Events
Kamayan, meaning hand in hand, is our biggest event of the fall semester. We showcase a rich tapestry of performances including singing, traditional dance, modern dance, and Filipino-style Rondalla 14Strings!
This year’s theme draws inspiration from the folktale of Apolaki and Mayari, the god of the sun and the goddess of the moon, whose sibling rivalry story teaches us the origin of day and night through reconciliation.
All proceeds will go to the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) and their relief efforts following Super Typhoon Uwan’s devastation on November 9.

Philippine Culture Night
Philippine Culture Night (PCN) is our biggest event of the spring semester. Every year since the founding of our student organization in 1924, the Cornell Filipino Association has brought a night of dancing, music, and storytelling that brings our culture to life through a play.
Last year’s play, Pinagmumultuhan (haunting), explored the dissonance between the Filipino-American identity when interacting with Filipino culture through the story of Tala, a second-generation Filipino-American haunted by spirits embodying the traditions she both cherishes and fears losing. The story revealed how postmemory lingers within us, shaping our unfolding search for belonging in between two countries, two languages, and family and self experiences.

Kain Na, meaning let’s eat, celebrates the heart of Filipino community: sharing food and laughter together! Members gather to cook, unwind, play games, and bond over home-cooked Filipino dishes.
Each semester closes with a formal, our end-of-term club celebration consisting of dressing on theme with our lins (Fall) or class (Spring), taking photos, and eating catered food! In the spring, the night continues with Senior Roast n’ Toast, where we celebrate our graduating seniors and the memories we’ve made with them.
